Xiaomi is a privately-owned company that designs, develops and sell the smartphones. Xiaomi (Redmi) is the largest mobile selling company in India and the demand for Redmi mobiles is unstoppable. Apart from manufacturing mobiles, the company also manufacture Tablets, TV’s, Air purifiers, fitness trackers and so on.

With the great success of Redmi Y1, the company has launched Xiaomi Redmi Y2. Redmi Y2 was first launched in India in June 2018. The device sports a metal rear panel which makes it easy to fit in palm. At the back of the phone, there is a fingerprint reader for security and imaging sensor.

Some changes are made in imaging sensor at the front. This device has a 16-megapixel front facing camera which comes with a LED flash, which can be use to click better selfies and make video calls at night or in dark area. At the back of the device, there is 5 and 12-megapixel camera, which also has a LED light.

Display.

The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 features a 5.99-inch full screen display with 720 x 1440 pixel of resolution which makes your viewing experience more better. The screen also offers good outdoor legibility and is paired with wide viewing angles which aid a better visual experience while watching videos or playing games.

Cameras.

Redmi Y2, comes with a 16 MP front facing camera and at the back it has two cameras which are 12 MP and 5 MP respectively. The company has provided flash for front as well as back camera.

Connectivity and Sensors.

The connectivity features include Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), GPS, Bluetooth (v4.2), Infrared, 3G and 4G and Micro USB 2.0 port. The Redmi Y2 is a dual SIM device (GSM and GSM) that accept Nano SIM in both slots. Sensors on the phone incudes Compass/Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.

Performance and Storage.

Under the hood, the device packs an octa-core Snapdragon 625 which is paired with 3GB of RAM to ensure seamless performance. The Xiaomi Redmi Y2 supports lag-free multitasking, and also you can enjoy games without affecting the performance.
Redmi Y2 has inbuilt internal storage of 32 GB and to expand this storage space user can use microSD card up to 256 GB.

OS and Battery.

Moving away from Nougat, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 boots the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box.
For power, the smartphone hosts a non-removable Li-Ion 3080mAh battery which is expected to hold up throughout the day for a moderate user.
